What Up Doe :)

My name is Erik HR. Some people call me Speech. I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan alongside my twin brother, with 2 awesome entrepreneurs as parents. An accountant and an artist, me and my brother received the best of both worlds from our parents.

Fast-forward to now - I work abroad as a software engineer and creative developer - a term I use to describe the vast array of visual aesthetic I apply to my projects. I’ve also spent a significant amount of time in the culinary world - so I’ll be sure to share some recipes and the fascinating flavors I experience on my journey around the globe.

I started this blog for several reasons, but mainly to share my thoughts and experiences with you. I feel like there’s a huge gap in the coverage of African-American artists traveling abroad, and our influence and experiences in the world.

I want to inspire my fellow counterparts and other newcomers from around the globe to embrace their passion and to be relentless in their pursuit of happiness.
